Township’s Safety Services Committee Recognizes the Life and Work of Kevin Jacobs

Kevin Jacobs was a pivotal member of the Safety Services Committee for Northfield Center Township.  Prior to his retirement, Kevin was affiliated with the Shaker Heights Fire Department. He had a stellar career with the Department.  He was made a lieutenant in 1990, Captain in 1998, Assistant Chief of Operations and Administration in 2002, and appointed as Chief in June 2010. Under his leadership, Shaker Heights was the first city in Ohio who made the photoelectric smoke detector mandatory in all Shaker Heights homes.  He was familiar with all facets of administrative contracting for fire and safety related services, including districting.  He retired in 2013 and his input, direction, and support for the betterment of Northfield Center Township was invaluable.  Kevin passed away on September 30, 2019. He is survived by his wife Margaret (nee Mullen), and his children, Breana, Meaghan, Kevin, Katherine, and Royce. All Committee members would like to let Kevin’s family know they are in our thoughts and prayers and we will sorely miss Kevin’s wisdom and positive support with regard to the safety services of Northfield Center Township.
