RANDALL LEYROY HUSHOUR

Sagamore Hills Resident who attended school in Northfield, Class of 1941. Born August 3, 1923, he died May 31, 1944. Randall was killed while serving as a Sgt.with the 3rd Armored Division at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Randall was leading his men through an infiltration course where 30-caliber machine guns fired over their heads and due to an unfortunate accident he was killed during this training segment. During Randall's school years he was a very quiet, but much respected individual. A Military Funeral was held in the Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery in June of 1944 with Staff Sgt. Dave Thomas, who was home on furlough, representing the U.S. Government. Randy was 20 years- 9 months old.

Randall left his mother and father, Mr. Ryall and Mrs. Alletha Hushour, his sister Adelene,
and brother Gerald, who later served in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician Mate 3rd Class and was in
the Pacific Theater of Operations aboard the U.S. Kassan Bay C.V.E. 69. Adelene is deceased.
Gerald now lives in Hilton Head Is., S.C. He also left a four year old brother, Darwin, who now
lives in Texas. Darwin served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 through 1966, with service time in Vietnam.
