Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center (HHWRC)

A reminder that the 2021 Season of the Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center (HHWRC) is open through and including the last Thursday in September, which is September 30, 2021.

As you are most likely aware, we do track the number of people who use the facility by day and by hour. From reviewing past data, we have found the last two weeks to be busy. Keep this in mind as you plan any final trips of the season.

We are seasonal, so even if you miss this year, we’ll be back in 2022. The HHWRC re-opens for its 2022 season on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

If you are planning on coming to the HHWRC, we always suggest reviewing the list of materials that are accepted. www.summitreworks.com/hhw  Avoiding extra trips, is a good thing!

ReVerse Waste

Are you a poet? Or do you know someone who has poetry in their heart? ReWorks is looking for poets to participate in “ReVerse Waste.”

Each year, our cREate Works program focuses on a particular arts discipline and a theme related to “reduce, reuse, and recycle.” For 2021, it’s poetry and the topic is waste reduction.

“ReVerse Waste” is open to Summit County residents and students enrolled in a Summit County university or college. There is no fee to enter.

Poets are asked to submit existing work (on any topic.) A panel of jurors will review the work and five poets will be selected to write two poems on the theme of waste reduction. A stipend of $150 will be provided to each of the selected poets.
